A "Must Read" article for Homeowners

One of the biggest mistakes a homeowner can make is accepting the lowest written estimate for several reasons.

Quality costs a little more because it takes more time and better materials to do the job. It also takes a higher skill level and more competence to do the work. These individuals cost more to employ.

Another reason is customer satisfaction. Why not pay for it once rather than hire someone to come back later to fix the issues that were caused by a rushed, inferior job? We won't do jobs that can't be done at a level of quality which meets our own expectations. This is what makes us better than most of our competitiors. My advice is, “Don’t expect quality results at the lowest price!”

This doesn’t mean it is expensive either. We are a small company by design. Remaining small allows us to keep our overhead costs lower and our prices reasonable. It also allows us to provide more customer satisfaction. We don't rush through a job that we estimated too low so we can get to the next job to make up for the loss. You will be completely satisfied with our work and we hope to keep a working relationship for future projects.

Another important consideration when hiring a contractor is: Check their referrals! Call from a list they should provide you to see if their previous customers would hire them again. Look at the photos of their previous jobs. Make sure they are licensed, Bonded and Insured. Make sure they don’t have claims against their company. A proven track record is crucial! There are many stories of bad business practices with contractors taking money and leaving behind an unfinished job. This can be avoided with a little due diligence on your part. Take some time to check the credentials of the company you are thinking about hiring to avoid problems that can arise.

Thank you for reading and we hope to hear from you soon!
